In the APA, Everyone Can Play & Anyone Can Win!
The 2025 World Pool Qualifier for 9-Ball is scheduled for May 31st & June 1st 2025 @ Kellys Pool Hall in Troy with approximately 24 teams. The top 2 teams will advance to the 9-Ball World Pool Championships in Vegas in August 2025. Doors open at 9AM with registration from 900-9:40 AM and then a short player meeting immediately following. First round starts @10 AM.
The 2025 World Pool Qualifier for 8-Ball is scheduled for June 6, 7 & 8, 2025 @ Teachers Billiards in Lake St Louis with approximately 50 teams. The top 3 teams advance to the 8-Ball World Championships in Vegas in August 2025. On Friday evening, there will be 2 rounds played at 7PM & 9:30 PM with registration from 6-6:40 PM & a short Player meeting immediately following for the teams shooting on Friday night. On Saturday, doors open @ 9 AM with registration from 9 - 9:40 AM and then a short player meeting immediately following. 3rd round starts @ 10 AM on Saturday.

While some membership cards require you to be able to jump the cue ball, bank it off three rails and sink the 8-Ball blindfolded, getting an APA Membership Card is much easier.
Having fun, meeting new people and playing pool is what the APA is all about.. You don't have to be a pool shark, because in the APA -- everyone can play and anyone can win. The APA wants beginners and novices, because it is the AMATEUR Poolplayers Association. No other organization in pool gives ordinary players a chance to win a share of nearly $1.5 MILLION guaranteed cash and prizes paid out through its national tournaments.
How does the APA do it? It uses The Equalizer® handicap system to determine the amount of games a player has to win in order to capture the match. It allows a novice to win less games than a more-skilled opponent to win a match.
